A solo performance
subj:medeA is a contemporary reimagining of the Medea myth, weaving together ancient texts, modern testimonies, and personal reflections on motherhood, exile, and systemic failure. The show dismantles the monstrous image of Medea to ask urgent questions about the structures that fail to protect women and mothers.
The narrator confronts the audience with a fragmented chorus of voices—mythic, political, and intimate—exploring how women are blamed for societal collapse while deeper injustices remain obscured. Through chalk drawings, fabric, projection, and responsive input from the audience, subj:medeA unfolds as both an embodied essay and a ritual of refusal.
This performance is part political investigation, part personal exorcism. It is Medea not as a monster, but as a catalyst.
